Application Checklist and Submission of Application Materials

An application consists of a number of components. The application is not processed until all the elements are received. Most components are online. A few components cannot be filed electronically through the online process or email. These must be mailed to OSEA at the address below.


Online Applications
Please note that this system does not support "save and resume (later)". You must complete the entire application at one sitting.

Submission of Materials

Application Checklist

Heritage Ethnography Field School: A complete Application Packet must include all of the following documents:

  • Main Online Application Form
  • One Letter of Recommendation, second Letter is optional
  • Spanish Self-Assessment Proficiency Form
  • Spanish Language Evaluation Letter from Third Party
  • Copy of all Transcripts, including transfer schools (may be scanned copies of official transcripts that show coursework for college career, including statement of GPA)
  • Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee paid via Paypal
  • Early Decision Applications and Late Applications require Registration Fee in form of check

SELT Teaching English Service Learning: A complete Application Packet must include all of the following documents:

  • Main Online Application Form
  • One Letter of Recommendation, second letter is optional
  • Spanish Self-Assessment Proficiency Form
  • Spanish Language Evaluation Letter from Third Party
  • Copy of Transcripts (can be copies of official complete transcripts that show coursework for college career), including statement of GPA
  • Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee paid via Paypal

Summer Intensive Maya Language Immersion Program: A complete Application Packet must include all of the following documents:

  • Main Online Application Form
  • FLAS Eligibility Form
  • One Letter of Recommendation, Optional
  • Spanish Self-Assessment Proficiency Form
  • Spanish Language Evaluation Letter from Third Party is not required
  • Copy of all Transcripts, including transfer schools (may be scanned copies of official transcripts that show coursework for college career, including statement of GPA)
  • Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee paid via Paypal
  • Check for Registration Fee to hold enrollment on program roster, mailed to OSEA

Intensive Spanish Immersion Program: A complete Application Packet must include all of the following documents:

  • Main Online Application Form
  • Spanish Self-Assessment Proficiency Form
  • Spanish Language Evaluation Letter from Third Party
  • Non-Refundable Application Processing Fee paid via Paypal


Direct Payment to OSEA can be paid by the following three options

    1. Paypal. Use the "send money" feature on your paypal account at www.paypal.com. This feature is ideal for the application fees only. Send fee amount to quetzil@osea-cite.org

    2. Checks. Send a personal check, money order or cashier's check payable to “OSEA” mailed to:

    3. Direct wire transfer (bank to bank) or electronic deposit can be arranged for an additional fee of $15. Please contact the OSEA Director to confirm arrangements. This method is ideal for late payments due.

    Please note that PayPal payment is not always available for programs and is not recommended for payment of registration fee and tuition balance. If you choose to pay by paypal any charges other than the application fee, you will be charged an additional service fee of 3% of the amount due OSEA. If you select paypal as payment method you will need to calculate this additional fee amount and it to the amount of the payment. The 3% fee amount is significantly higher than the cost of a direct wire tansfer.
