Mérida Bus Stations

There are many bus stations in Mérida. The main bus station is called CAME -- it is actually now a two building complex on two different streets, one is the main second class bus station for regional travel the other is the first class station. There is a satelite 1st class station out on calle 60 right next to the Hotel Fiesta Americana. You can mostly forget about this station except to ask when you buy a first class tticket to make sure you are or are not going to THAT station. The CAME Bus stations is on Calle 70 between Calles 69 and 71. The Main 2nd class bus station is on Calle 69 between 68 and 70 (these are right next to each other).

Check out ADO Ticketbus for all schedules
Note: this is a bit tempermental, try different combinations of cities if you cannot initially get information. The far right hand column “tiempo recorrido” is travel time. Select Merida Came over Merida Fiesta always; also be aware that you are likely to get error messages if you try to get a ticket from or to the Canun Airport Bus station.

The stop for Pisté is listed but it will always give you an error message. Use Chichén Itzá to find the times for First Class buses in and out of Pisté/Chichén. First Class buses (approx. $10) depart Mérida at 6:30am, 9:15am, and 12:40am. From Chichén to Mérida are at 2:20pm and 5:10pm. Second class buses run every hour in either direction and cost 54 pesos or just under $6 US.

The main second class bus is called Oriente. It services the small communities throughout the peninsula. Once upon a time it was the only bus service available. Today it is only good for short local trips. The second class bus from Merida to Cancun is approximately 6 hours long and stops at every town, sometimes more than once.

Any regional travel over 2 hours should be on first class buses. There are three lines:
ADO, ADO GL and UNO -- these are all direct with maybe only one stop. For Cancun-Merida:
  • www.ado.com.mx -- the ADO-GL is the luxury line. $246 pesos/ $22 US. This bus has TV, AC, 4 hours 15 mins, and trips throughout day. (based on 11 mn/dollar rate)
  • UNO bus is $365 pesos (US$33) Cancun-Merida, with wide chairs (3 seats across!), AC, bathroom, TV-Movies, etc. There are fewer trips per day, but under 4 hours
  • ADO Regular is $218 pesos (US$ 19.8) and is basic bus, with movies, 4 hours 20 mins.
